Air-Supported Pool
Cover
The Goldendale pool is covered during the
non-summer months by an air-supported structure
manufactured by Yeadon. The funding for the
cover was provided by the Wilma Olsen estate,
and the project was a joint venture between the
City of Goldendale and the Central Klickitat
County
Parks and Recreation District, which manages the
pool.
The cover takes one day to take down, and two
days to put back up. While it is not a
complicated
process, it does take quite a few strong people
working in teams to accomplish, as the slide in
the
middle of the pool facility is not removable, so
the cover has to go up over, and come down over,
the slide structure. Lifeguards, parents, and
the Goldendale football team assist with the
project.
Additional help is always welcome.
The cover will be coming down on June 12, 2010,
and the pool will be closed for the day.
